Blog #3

This week I finished reading the book Beastly by Alex Flinn. I decided to read this book because I have been wanting to read it ever since I was in Elementary School. This book starts off in the setting of voting for a king and queen for prom. Kyle Kingsbury, the most popular boy in high school, has the looks but his personality says otherwise. He believes that physical characteristics matter much more than personality. Kendra is a mysterious classmate who is an undercover witch that casts a spell on Kyle Kingsbury on prom night. The only way to break the spell is a kiss from a person that loves him, but Kyle does not believe this. If he does not find a person, that he truly loves and she loves him back in two years; he would be a beast forever.

His father brought him to many clinics and hospitals around the country, as a result, his father bought him a house as far away from the public as possible. The guy mindlessly agreed. Kendra feels sorry for Kyle so she gives him a mirror that shows him whoever he wants to see. Kyle Kingsbury now lives with Magda, the maid, and Will, the blind home school teacher. As time passes, they get close to each other, and Kyle changes his name to Adrian King. He slowly learns that beauty is found in the personality and looks do not matter. One night, Linda's father came lurking around his property, so in order to punish him, Adrian (Kyle) tole him to trade his freedom for his daughter.

Linda comes to live in Adrian's house, not knowing hoe he looks like. Adrian tries his best to get closer to Linda by inviting her over to dinner, and doing the great things for her. He then finds out that she likes roses, the yellow ones to be exact. He invites her to diner, and she finds out how he looks like. Slowly, they fall in love. Then Linda goes back home, as she was walking back looking for Adrian's house; she gets attacked by a guy. Adrian comes and saves her, but the curse was almost too late to break. Adrian then tells her to kiss him, she did. He turned into Kyle Kingsbury.
